The national attributes of the area are legendary from climbing Tomaree Headland to Tomaree National Park literally a buzz with 30 bird species, 48 mammal species and 38 reptiles.
There are more than 650 plant species and throughout each year at least 200 different wildflowers come to bloom.
Year to year we are lucky enough to have front row seats to the humpback whales passing by the coast. From May they migrate north to the warmer waters for their breeding season. And from September they head back down the Coast for cold waters over summer.
The bottle-nose dolphins are another big attraction, their graceful appearance in the bow waves of passing boats are a constant delight. Over 80 dolphins call the Bay home, with numbers growing each year.
For fishermen, there are many choices, from the tributaries of the Karuah River and the Myall Lakes, to rock and beach fishing and offshore.
